Genie

A set of ceiling lamps designed specifically for a home with very low ceilings. The perpendicularly mounted lamp holders are diffused with a perforated disc onto which is bolted an elliptical shade that can be easily turned by hand to adjust the exposure of light.

Waste Lamp

Table lamp using odd parts and off cuts. The shade was left over from an earlier 

, rejected due to a dented surface. I found by hammering I could turn this damage into something positive revitalising the shade to give it a new life.

Hammered

A fun exercise in response to a found paper lantern shade, with thanks to Noguchi.

The stand uses a threaded stainless bar, this allows the height of the lamp holder to adjust and the base to be easily removed. The shade itself is hung from a loop atop this threaded bar.

The repair shop organised and run by Carl Clerkin invited a range of designers and makers to repurpose donated and forgaed parts into new items of furniture. Pivoting wall lamps designed to fit with an earlier pice of furniture and mirror. The shade is mounted to the wall bracket via steel thread which can be adjusted and fixed with a bakelite ball knob.

A lamp modelled loosely on a mechanics inspection lamp. The switched fitting acts as handle, with the holes in the tubular shade allowing the lamp to hang on a hook, or light to be emitted while standing upturned.

Ceiling lamp designed to fit over an existing ceiling rose, securing a lamp holder parallel with the ceiling.

 lamp. The aim was to create a more compact version of the original lamp by turning all segments inward and closing the structure, this also means the view of the bulb is obscured through 360 degrees.

Angler Lamp

Desk Lamp, a re-worked version of an earlier 

Desk lamp with adjustable head. A single strip of perforated steel is cut for the stem and lamp holder bracket. The perforation provides a routing for the cable, holes to attach the base and head and a natural curve to the stem. The head is secured using a coloured stainless steel wing nut allowing it to be rotated into position.
